July 22, 2024

Three Murphy Anderson clients working on Prince George’s public school construction projects successfully settled a wage theft case against Honeywell International, Inc., Gilbane Building Company and R&R Electric Contractors, Inc., after mediation with Judge William Connelly (ret).

The electrical workers alleged that Defendants failed to pay Maryland and Prince George’s County prevailing wage and were illegally misclassified as independent contractors for work they performed at two publicly funded school projects in Capitol Heights and Hyattsville, Maryland.  The workers alleged violations of the Maryland Workplace Fraud Act, the Maryland Wage and Hour Law and the Maryland Wage Payment and Collection Law, Maryland Prevailing Wage Statute; and the Prince George’s County prevailing wage law. The Case was filed in the Circuit Court of Maryland, Prince George’s County.

Mark Hanna, Arlus Stephens, Adam Breihan and Ricardo Perez worked on different aspects of the case.
