Murphy Anderson Attorneys Speak at National Labor and Employment Law Conferences

Murphy Anderson attorneys were highlighted speakers at national conferences for employment and labor lawyers.  Three Murphy Anderson attorneys spoke at panels at the Union Lawyers Alliance (ULA) Conference in May in Minnesota, two Murphy Anderson attorneys were featured speakers at the ULA DOOR conference for law students of color in June and two Murphy Anderson attorneys were speakers at the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) Conference in June.

At the ULA conference, Michael Anderson presented a paper entitled “Defense Against Attacks on the Constitutionality of the NLRA: SpaceX, Jarkesy and the Assault on the New Deal.” Mark Hanna spoke on a panel about restrictive covenants, including non-competes, training repayment agreements (TRAPs) and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), as well as labor trafficking claims under the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPRA). 

At the ULA’s DOOR conference, Jason Veny presented on "Collective Bargaining Basics and the Lawyer's Role" and later in the summer he spoke about different career paths in the labor movement.  Ricardo Perez spoke at the DOOR conference about wage theft cases.

At the NELA conference, the premier conference for plaintiffs’ employment lawyers, Michael Anderson spoke about developments in Concerted Act Under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA).  Nicolas Mendoza’s panel discussed “Ongoing Developments in Private-Sector Whistleblower Litigation,” including developments in the qui tam provisions of the False Claims Act.
